A 3D piece that involved working with 3D scans. I used photogrammetry to scan the model. The eyepiece was inspired by the idea of creating prosthetics that are meant to enhance or extend the human body. I wanted to create a form of prosthetic that can extend the sight of humans and so 3D modeling is a great way to illustrate speculative designs. Here, the model stands with a pair of implanted goggles which demonstrate augmented eyesight. This prosthetic enhances vision with the extended arms offering more height and perspective for one to see. Also, with the arm’s flexibility, it allows things to be seen at any angle. The prosthetic utilizes microscopic vision (the ability to see objects at microscopic scale) and telescopic vision (the ability to see distant objects magnified). And, there’s also a connection at the back of the head, which allows one to see things from behind.
